NEW FICTION The Sorceress (Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel Vol. 3) by Michael Scott. In the heart of London Josh and Sophie take refuge with an ancient warrior as they search for Gilgamesh, the immortal who can instruct them in the element of water. The only problem is Gilgamesh is totally insane. Actually that’s not the only problem, as time runs out on his immortal life; John Dee unleashes the most dangerous threat ever, one that might tear the whole city apart. The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan. It all comes down to this. An army of titans and monsters attack New York City and there’s nothing to stop them but Percy Jackson and a handful of demigods. At last Percy learns the truth about the prophecy that’s been haunting him Hurricane Gold by Charles Higson. What’s more dangerous, a tropical hurricane, or El Huracan himself, the master of an island haven for criminals? To save some kidnapped children young James Bond must race through a jungle and survive the Avenue of Death! The Bully, The Gun, Blood is Thicker three books by Paul Lanagan. Three more in the Bluford High series. Hard hitting tales of an inner city school, this series has been very popular. You can read them in any order, making them perfect for summer reading. Vampire Kisses 6: Royal Blood by Ellen Schreiber. Raven so isn’t looking forward to the beginning of school, for one thing it means no more nights with her vampire boyfriend Alexander. This year looks to be especially bad when Alexander’s parents come to town. For some reason he’s reluctant to introduce Raven to his folks and suddenly their perfect relationship looks likes it’s headed for the rocks. Once Dead, Twice Shy by Kim Harrison. Madison Avery discovers that being dead doesn’t stop her from going to school and having a normal life. Actually she’s only technically dead, she stole the amulet of a Dark Reaper, which allows her to continue her life after death, of course it also tangles her up with Light Reapers, her guardian angel, Oh yeah, and the rest of the Dark Reapers, who want to see her really dead. It sounds a lot like Bleach, but with a tough heroine who is going to make the most of her unlife.
