Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult. Reviewed by Bryana Boucher, age 15. I loved it. I could not put this book down. It drew me the picture and I imagined from there. Go Ask Alice by Anonymous. Reviewed by Mia Nguyen, age 15. This book was about a girl named Alice and her struggles to find herself. She deals with a drug addiction and is confused. I liked this book because it discusses problems in our society today. Teenages can definately relate to Alice one way or another. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a good diary.
Fake ID by Walter Sorrels. Reviewed by Leyna Le, age 15. This book is avout a 15 year old girl named Chastity. She and her mother have always been on the run, changing their names and identities. When Chastity's mother goes missing, Chastity knows she's on the run. She has only six days to find her, that is if she isn't murdered first. Five stars. Of Mice and Men by Robert Steinbeck. Reviewed by Courtney Roberts, age 16. This book was about two guys who travel together. Lennie, one of the guys is quite slow. He doesn't remember things often and when doing wrong he doesn't know when enough is enough. Thankfully George is is friend who helps him along the way when possible. The two of them settle on a farm to collect some good money, however problems occur with Lennie and some changes must be made. I do like the book because it shows that when someone needs a helping hand there is always someone there to help. I also enjoyed this book because I like all the descriptions given throughout the book. This is one thing that gets me to continue reading such a good book. Invisible by Pete Hautman. Reviewed by Amy Linsamouth, age 17. This book is about a boy named Doug Hanson. Doug Hanson is considered a freak in school especially since his eyes are glued to a girl, Melissa. Doug's best friend Andy is the opposite of him. Andy is popular and social. Doug enjoys Andy's company, whenever Andy isn't there he works on his toy trains, his obsession. But what lurks behind the obsession? And what exactly happened in the Tuttle place? I liked this book. It's interesting and the ending is surprising. The book is a quick read with very interesting and witty characters. |
