Saturday May 29th 1:30-2pm

for a family magic show. Suitable for ages 4 and up. Children under 12 must be with an adult. Free tickets available now at the library call 769-9044 to reserve tickets by phone

Spanish/English Storytime Saturday June 12th 10:30-11:30 ages 3-7years. Stories songs movie and craft!! Parents attend with children. Register now by calling the children’s dept.

 Registration for Summer Programs begins June 28th.

Manga Discussion Group Friday July 16 & Aug 6th  from 3:00 to 4:00 in the Children’s Programming Room. This is your chance to talk about Japanese comics and get a look at new titles.

 

Percy Jackson Book Discussion July 23 3:00-4:00. Talk about the book series and the movie.

 

Twilight Book Discussion Aug 13  3:00-4:00  Talk about the latest movie Eclipse and the entire book series.

 

Dungeons and Dragons Game every Wednesday from 3-5pm in the  Children’s Programming Room.

 

Summer Reading Challenge for Teens  Read books over the summer and get prizes like gift cards or a free book of your choice. Earn points for each book read. The person with the most points gets a grand prize gift certificate to Best Buy at the end of the summer.

 

Photo Contest This summer the library is having a digital photography contest. Send us your best pictures, we’ll be choosing winners in both grades 6-8th and 9-12. The winners will see their pictures published in the Valley Breeze. Limit of 10 photos per person.

 

Short Story Contest  All entries must be typed in Times New Roman 12 point font, and no story can be more than 3,000 words (about fifteen pages). There will be winners in grades  6-8 and 9-12.  Limit of 2 stories per person.

 

Teen Pizza Party  August 20th  1-2pm. To be at the pizza party you must have been enrolled in the Teen Summer Reading Game for grades 6-12 and have read at least 8 books. Open to first 25 participants to sign up.

 

Funding and support for the Statewide RI Summer Reading Program includes a grant from the U.S.  Institute of Museum and Library Services through the RI Office of Library & Information Services,  McDonald’s Local Owner/Operators of RI, Subway of Woonsocket, and the Friends of the Woonsocket Harris Public Library.
